Love is in the air

Valentine's Day is just like any other day... There is no more love than before. I think the meaning of Valentine's Day should change. Rather than focusing only on couples, it should focus on the love between close friends and family. It seems that most people seem bitter about the day and its implications. Lost love comes back to haunt the survivors, and those who have not experienced it are ironically haunted by the lack of its existence. It make me want to hurl. But, now I think I have learned that the day is only what you make of it, and I have decided to ignore it (except for the cute little conversation hearts candy that I love to eat!) On a more chipper note, I was able to go home last weekend to surprise my mom on her weekend before she turns 50 party. I made a really good coconut cake... And it was completely from scratch. I also decorated the house before she came home from work and cleaned it to boot. She seemed pretty surprised, which was amazing since I almost let it slip that I coming home a few times while on the phone the week before. Another exciting event.... Take a guess.... I have learned how Medicaid and Medicare work in one of my classes. Talk about "exciting". Now if any of you have questions pertaining to Medicare or Medicaid be sure to let me know because I can help :) hehehe I tell ya... Whoever made up the system must have been participating in some illegal activity concerning inhalant when they came up with this stuff. Well, I suppose I should do something a little more productive than complaining. Adios!

Are you going down to Roch. this weekend too? Mara and I are coming down, and it would be great fun to see you and hang out sometime.

And commenting on your entry, a lot of people do use V-day to celebrate family and friend type love too. Why do you think we sent each other valentines as kids? Heh, besides the candy, of course. :-)

Sadly, I am not going home this weekend... I have to work Sat. night :( Are you going home any time before Spring Break? Otherwise, I do think we have the same Spring Break so I will definitely see you then!
